Support in 2013-2014

In 2013-2014 we provided the below support to bereaved families throughout England & Wales.

 

£1,020 in Gift in Kind.

 

Provided Christmas presents to over 150 children that would not have been able to celebrate Christmas.

 

We also provided the following Financial & Respite Support:

A) Financial: This family sadly lost their husband/dad to cancer leaving 2 young children. Mums finances were is disarray and outstanding bills were causing her concern. We paid her utility bills arrears as well as her mobile phone bill she run up whilst her husband was ill.

B) Financial: This family lost their 12 year old daughter/sister in a tragic accident and as a result were struggling financially. We provided the family with a supermarket gift card to purchase household goods and groceries.

C) Financial: Sadly this family of 2 daughters and husband/dad lost mum/wife at an early age to cancer. The family were struggling with the funeral arrears and this was causing them concern. We provided a contribution to the outstanding amount enabling dad to get back on track with the repayments.

D) Respite Break: This family lost husband/dad aged only 36 years. Since his death they had been unable to afford to spend time together somewhere other than home. We provided a VIP break to London for them to watch a musical.

E) Respite Break: This family lost their 12 year old daughter/sister in a tragic accident and as a result were struggling financially. We sent them away at Christmas as they couldn’t face being at home. This support was additional support to a family we’d previously helped.

F) Financial: This family lost husband/dad leaving behind 3 young children. The loss had caused mum to be struggling financially, mum was working contact hours in an attempt to get back on track. We provided support sand paid arrears of rental and council tax.

G) Financial: This family sadly lost wife/mum to cancer at a young age leaving an 8 year old daughter behind. Although she had died 3 years previous dad still had not had his wife’s ashes returned due to a debt on the funeral. We immediately paid the outstanding amount to ensure he had his wife home for Christmas.

H) Respite: This young girl lost her parents at a young age and currently lives with grandparents. They could not afford luxuries like her friends and we provided her with a tablet computer o allow her to spend time relaxing.

I) Respite: This family lost their 12 year old daughter/sister in a tragic accident and as a result were struggling financially. We son with a tablet computer at Christmas time. This was additional support to a family we’d already helped.

J) Respite: This family lost their 12 year old daughter/sister in a tragic accident and as a result were struggling financially. We provided the family with a much needed holiday abroad. The daughter (8) had never been abroad before.

K) Financial: This family lost their 12 year old daughter/sister in a tragic accident and as a result were struggling financially. We paid for the son’s school trip which parents could not afford.

L) Respite: This family sadly lost mum, leaving 3 young children behind who then went to live with dad. Dad already had a holiday booked and wanted to take the children but finances were restricting this, we paid for the 3 children to attend the holiday with dad.

M) Respite: This family lost granddad who was an active part of the upbringing of the children. Mum wanted to give the children a treat to cheer them up but was unable to do so due to finances. We provided the family with a weekend away at Alton Towers.

N) Financial/Respite Break: This family sadly their eldest son in 2012 and as a single parent family were struggling financially on a number of things. First of all we sent the family away to spend some quality time together then we paid for the children’s school trips so they could attend.

O) Financial: This family sadly lost parents and older sibling took guardianship of her younger sister. This extra responsibility brought additional financial pressures and we stepped in to help them financially with rent arrears and bought younger sister a new bed.

P) Financial: This family sadly lost dad just prior to Christmas and mum was finding it financially difficult to pay her council tax, in turn this was causing her additional stress. We paid the arrears.

Q) Financial: Sadly dad was killed in a car accident and as a result this caused for mum to fall behind on her council tax payments. A court date of which was set and mum feared what would happened. We stepped in and paid the amount in full.

R) Financial: This family of 5 children lost their 2 year old brother/son to a brain tumour. As a result mum and dad did not feel up to returning to work and this impacted on their financial state. There was a number of arrears causing additional stresses including rent and council tax. We helped by providing financial relief and worked closely with a financial advisor from the CAB.

S) Financial: Sadly grandparents had to take guardianship of young Blake as he lost his mum and dad was not in contact. Grandparents found what the financial struggles of having Blake and identified they needed to purchase bedroom furniture for him but finances wouldn’t allow this. We helped by purchasing all Blake’s bedroom furniture.

T) Financial: Sadly this family lost their 8 month old daughter. Dads had returned to work but mum wasn’t ready to do so. They had found keeping up repayments on council tax difficult and had fallen into arrears. We paid the outstanding amount.

U) Financial: Daughter and granddaughter lived with grandmother due to learning difficulties. Sadly grandmother died suddenly and left daughter struggling financially. We paid an outstanding water bill and provided her with a super market gift card for groceries and household goods.

V) Respite Break: Joseph sadly lost his dad suddenly. His mum wanted to take him away for some time alone but couldn’t afford it. We paid for Joe and his mum to go on holiday.

W) Respite Break: This family sadly lost wife/mum to cancer at a young age leaving an 8 year old daughter behind. We sent them away on their first holiday abroad. We had previously helped this family and continue to do so.

X) Financial: Chloe sadly lost both her parents and now lived with grandparents. Finances were tight and Chloe often had the same clothes for months whilst her friends had new clothes often. We provided Chloe with a gift card so she could go shopping and purchase herself new clothes.

Y) Respite break: The circumstances of this family were tragic, grandma now has sole guardianship of her 4 grandchildren. We paid for the family to go on holiday with all expenses paid and spending money.

Z) Respite Break: This large family of 4 girls and mum, lost their dad suddenly. This family were referred to us by school who felt they would benefit from a holiday. We sent them away all expenses paid and as much couldn’t drive we arranged for a mini bus to attend and return them.

AA) Respite Break: This family lost a twin daughter which badly affected her sister. The family wanted to take their daughter away but found finances limiting this. We provided a holiday to Alton Towers including all activities and the option to take a friend with her.

BB) Respite Break: This family of 4 boys and mum, sadly lost their dad after years of battling cancer. Prior to dad’s death he wanted to take them to watch Manchester United, unfortunately this never happened. Mum wanted to keep the wish but did not know how or could not afford it. We obtained Manchester United tickets, a hotel and they also attended a children’s activity centre.

CC) Financial: This family had sadly lost mum, leaving behind dad and young son. The death of his wife has caused Ben difficulty and he had fallen behind with his rent arrears. We paid the arrears in full.

DD) Respite Break: Single mum Sophia sadly lost her daughter leaving her to care for her year old. Sophia wanted to take her daughter away on holiday but could not afford to do so. We provided them an all-expenses paid holiday.

EE) Respite Break: This family sadly lost dad, leaving mum to care for her year old son. Mum wanted to take Max to Lego Land but could not afford to do so. We provided the family with a holiday so they could stay at LEGOLAND for a few days.

FF) Financial: This family of sadly lost dad after years of fighting cancer. The family had fallen in financial difficulties with rent, council tax and utility bills. We cleared all the arrears to allow mum to look to the future.

GG) Financial: This family sadly lost their young son. As a result they had taken a long time off work and had resulted in them missing a mortgage payment. This was causing them concern, we paid the missed payment.

HH) Respite Break: This family sadly lost their year old daughter. Having continuously helped them, we thought they deserved a holiday so sent them away with their 7 year old son.

II) Financial: Single mum Sophia sadly lost her daughter leaving her to care for her year old. Sophia was struggling financially. We [provide her with a supermarket gift card for household goods and groceries.

JJ) Financial: This family lost their 12 year old daughter/sister in a tragic accident and as a result were struggling financially. We provided new school uniform for their son.

KK) Financial: This family of 3 children sadly lost their mum and as a resulted dad was struggling financially. We provided a super market gift card for household goods and groceries.

LL) Financial: This family sadly lost their daughter many years ago. Since mum has taken gau8rdianship of her grandchildren and this has resulted in the fact that mum has ever been able to afford a headstone for her daughter. With this in mind, we purchase a headstone for mum.

MM) Financial: This family sadly lost their daughter aged 9 and as a result were struggling financially. Although no outstanding bills. We provided a super market gift card for household goods and groceries.
